THE STORY OF SILLY FITNESS

Read below to learn how an unfortunate back injury lead me to discover my dream profession and passion for helping others live their best lives

Silly

Growing up in Norway I had a very active childhood. My shortest lived athletic careers were in gymnastics and diving, but I spent significant time exploring other sports such as rock climbing, squash, swimming, skiing, handball and soccer.

Soccer took up most of my time, and as a child I always dreamed of playing professionally. In high school I was a part of the development squad for the professional team in my city. I had already decided that I wanted to play collegiate soccer in the United States when I suffered a back injury during the warm-up for a game.

The pain was manageable for the most part, but I was only able to play for short bouts at a time. I spent a lot of time doing rehab, identifying my weaknesses and building strength. It was during my time in physical therapy and rehab that I started to develop a passion for personal training and strength and conditioning.

Although I had a very active childhood, I had never participated in strength training or other sports enhancing activities besides practicing for the sports I participated in. I saw how beneficial this type of training is, not only to athletes, but to anyone who wants to keep moving. I’ve spent the last 11 years working with individuals of all ages and abilities, both in Norway and in The United States. In the last two years, I’ve also had the pleasure of working with several teams as a sports performance coach at my alma mater.

Today, I spend most of my days in the gym helping clients reach their goals as well as working towards my own. I strongly believe in living an active lifestyle filled with activities that you love, so I make sure I walk my dogs a few miles most every single day, and play golf at every chance I get. I also enjoy swimming laps, playing tennis and pickleball, running, hiking, biking, and playing around with a soccer ball.

My goal is to help as many people as possible find the joy in an active lifestyle and live a happy and healthy life
